Meet Our Heroes
Heroes for HIPpy is a student-led non-profit organization that mobilizes athletes, students, and community champions to raise awareness and funds for early detection and treatment of hip dysplasia.
Through storytelling, sport-based events, and partnerships with leading health organizations, Heroes for HIPpy works to ensure every child has the mobility, confidence, and opportunity to participate fully in sport and community life.
Hip Dysplasia is the most common hip disorder in babies. The hip is a ball-and-socket joint and normally the ball (femoral head) sites securely in the socket (acetabulum). Hip dysplasia is when a baby’s hip joint is abnormally loose. This means the ball moves around too much in the socket, or can even be completely out of the socket (dislocated).
